Central PA Helicopters, LLC was born from the desire of its owner, Jim Sedgwick, to continue his passion for flying while remaining closer to home and family.
Jim has over 20 years as a commercial helicopter pilot and has flown in a variety of locations, including the US and British Virgin Islands with Air Center Helicopters. Air Center's Owner, Rod Tinney, was a aeronautical engineer and a former test pilot for Bell Helicopters and always insisted his pilots know the limits of his or her aircraft to insure the highest safety standards.
Hawaii became Jim's next home for 6 years flying tours (2 yrs on Maui, 4 yrs on Kauai). The friends made and the beauty of the Hawaiian islands made it an unforgettbable experience.
Returning to the east coast to be closer to family brought him to New York City flying throughout the heavily concentrated Northeast Corridor with Liberty Helicopters. And just as they say on Broadway, "If you can make it there, you can make in anywhere!". Liberty Helicopters was, and still is, an great company to work with. They have exceptional leadership and they've always emphasized the importance of safety.
"I've had the priviledge of flying in some pretty incredible environments and have made friends with some pretty incredible people. The aviation industry is a small world but always evolving. Only another pilot would really understand that once you catch 'the flying bug', it's difficult to give it up."
Jim and his wife, Margie, made the move to Lebanon, PA to be closer to family and raise a family of their own. Here, with their daughter, Katie, and son, Chrisopher, he plans to offer helicopter services to residents and businesses throughout the Hershey-Harrisburg area.
The new 135 'on-demand' charter operation will begin service on April 1st, 2012, operating from two locations: Capital City Airport (CXY), just 3 miles outside of Harrsiburg, PA...and our new heliport located in the Flightpath Business Park in Palmyra, PA, (adjacent the Klick Lewis Arena).
